First Communions and Fatima Procession (Sunday May 12th, 10:30 AM)
Our Parish has been blessed with 250 First Communions! Inmediately after the 9:30 Mass, we gathered in front of the church building and processed with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima as a sign of love and devotion to her, and as a way to thank God for this blessing. Many parishioners joined us in this public manifestation of the faith as we prayed the Rosary along the streets of Mount Rainier.
Universitas (May 18th-22nd, 2013)
As Catholics, it’s not enough that our faith simply survive the challenge; in Christ’s own words, we can called to be the salt of the earth, and the light of the world (Mt 5:13-14). In order to meet the challenges of living the faith as a college or university student, the Religious Family of the Incarnate Word (IVE) is pleased to announce the first annual Universitas summer event from May 18th to the 22nd in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in Cairo, New York.
Universitas is a course designed to provide four types of formation essential to living out and strengthening their faith: Human, Intellectual, Spiritual and Apostolic.

Cardinal's Appeal 2013
The theme of the campaign is: “Seek first the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 6:33). The Cardinal’s Appeal campaign is much different than a one-time special collection. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gift, payable over ten months. A significant gift to the Cardinal’s Appeal will touch the lives of many others in a very positive way. As you review the work enabled by your contribution, please reflect on God’s gifts to you. He has given you all that you have. Your gifts to our parish, to the archdiocese and to the work of the Church throughout the world should be given in gratitude for the continuing gifts that God gives you.
Our combined gifts not only signify our gratitude to God, they glorify Him by enabling the work of our archdiocese and give Him thanks for all He has given us. If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass next weekend. For those of you that did not receive a mailing or have not had time to respond to it, we will conduct our in-pew pledge process at all Masses next weekend and the following weekend. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous response.

Youth Group Pilgrimage to St. Ignatius Church at Chapel Point
St. Ignatius Church at Chapel Point was founded in 1641 by Father Andrew White, a prominent English Jesuit, who was born in London in 1579 and who was one of the first Jesuits to arrive in Maryland.
The "relic of the true cross" was brought from England by Fr. Andrew White, S.J. in 1634. He wore it around his neck in a silver and glass case, which was specially made for the relic.
Earlier that day we visited an Equestrian Park, and were able to ride horses and a horse-cart.
Back in Washington D.C., we had Mass at the convent, had a pizza night, and watched pictures and videos from our trip to Spain, Portugal and France for WYD 2011. Click HERE to see pictures of the trip.
